Big things are happening šŸ˜¬

But I might need your help to bring it to life!

Hey, newsletter fam!

This weekā€™s newsletter is going to be a lot shorter than usual. I recently begun TWO programs in my quest to become a full-time VC. The Venture Institute program and the Pegasus Angel Accelerator University & Scout program.

There are homework assignments for BOTH and they do not hold back. So basically, Iā€™m working a 9-5 job, enrolled in two VC programs, building this newsletter, and working for a non-profit simultaneously.

Iā€™m not trying to glamorize being a workaholic.

But I know that I have a long road ahead of me to build the career I want.

This year, Iā€™m practicing showing up for myself and my ventures more. Even if it means doing just 20 minutes of focused work versus doing none at all.

I just finished doing HALF of part one (out of five parts!!!) of one homework assignment for the weekā€”after getting home from work and scarfing down a protein bar.

As tempting as it was to blow off this weekā€™s newsletter, I wanted to keep the streak alive and keep showing up.

So in lieu of a social media trend analysis or market research tips, I have one small ask.

Actually, I have two small asks. šŸ™ˆ

First, please share this newsletter with at least two people you know who enjoy reading about marketing and building success for startups (and who could really use some of these insights).

Hereā€™s a link to the signup page you can send them.

The second thing is about something fun Iā€™m launching.

As someone whoā€™s been a writer and reporter for over half a decade, storytelling comes naturally to me. I love learning more about peoplesā€™ experiences and I believe the VC and startup spaces can be united through thoughtful conversationā€”in a space where thereā€™s no pressure to pitch and no pressure to invest.

Also, success stories can be fascinating to read about but Iā€™m even more interested in hearing about founder experiences while theyā€™re still on their journey to achieving huge successā€”not just after.

So Iā€™m launching a series within this newsletter called Building in Public. I want to interview consumer startup founders and showcase their stories here every single week.

This is a chance for other founders and operators to learn from their experiences, get inspiration for growth tactics, and hear about the resources that are changing the game for others.

But Iā€™ll need your help if Iā€™m going to successfully get this off the ground.

Iā€™m looking to interview founders in the coming weeks. So if youā€™re a founderā€”or know a founderā€”sign up for a call with me.

You MUST:

  • Be a consumer tech or CPG startup founder

  • Be available for a 30- to 45-minute call during the week of May 6 so we can conduct our interview

  • Consent to having your experiences published in my newsletter and promoted on social media

Book your interview today by clicking over to my Calendly.

And if youā€™re helping me out by spreading the word, I want to just say thank you A TON! šŸ«¶šŸ½ Youā€™re helping me build the resources we all want to see in the world and that means a lot.
